Pais Tropical by Mirella Costa e Thiago Vitorio (Duo)
Mirella and Thiago went to berklee college of music, Class 2018, both from Brasil and both in love with brazilian music. They met at Berklee and since the day they met until now they have been playing Brazilian music as duo or with a band.
The love for their culture was what made them start playing and this is what keep their hearts beating as one – AND This concert will show this to every one!
Pais tropical in DUO will be a very a very unique and young tribute to the music of Brasil.
MIRELLA COSTA is a Brazilian singer, born in Recife, Pernambuco! In 2016, she recorded her first album, Minha Arca, for which she won the award for new gospel artist of the year in Brazil. In 2018 She graduated from Berklee College of Music and She is the first and only Brazilian singer to earn a full ride scholarship awarded by the Latin Grammy foundation!
She had the joy of singing in the Milton Nascimiento tribute show organized by Berklee, a great name of Brazilian music. She has also performed with Berklee professors and grammy award winners, such as Kurt Elling, Gretchen Parlato, Esperanza Spalding, Oscar Stagnaro, Toninho Horta, Allain Mallet, Fernando Brandão, Armando Manzanero, Gilson Schachnik, Nando Michelin, Mark Walker, and many more. She has performed at many of Boston’s finest jazz venues including Scullers Jazz Club, ICA, Regatta Bar, Ryles Jazz Club, as well as the Agganis Arena. She is now living in NYC, and has sang at BirdLand jazz club, Smalls, Zinc Bar, Better days jazz club, Arlene’s Grocery, Mezrrow Jazz Club, and more.
THIAGO VITORIO is a pianist, producer, arranger and composer who has performed with musicians of world fame, including: Milton Nascimento, João Bosco, Tia Fuller, Randy Gloss, David Chew, Toninho Horta, Gilson Peranzzetta and many others. He was also the arranger of a tour that took place in the US, took a course in Call Arts and has a degree in Music Education from UBM (Barra Mansa University) and Piano Performance from Berklee College of Music.
