The Hiroshi Yamazaki Trio – Live In The Garage

Hiroshi Yamazaki is a jazz pianist originally from Osaka, Japan, who frequently performs and teaches in the New York area. Hiroshi has shared the stage with some of New York's finest players, including Reggie Workman, Eric Alexander, Kenny Washington, and Bill Crow. He made his first record in 1996 with Ron Carter and Lewis Nash and another one in 2000 with the same trio. In this video recording, Hiroshi is joined by Graciliano Zambonin on Drums and Miles Gilbert on Bass. Graciliano, originally from Curitiba, Brazil, is one of the first-call drummers for both Brazilian music and jazz in New York. Miles is a New York native, who recently graduated from Oberlin Conservatory. This trio has bonded over their shared love for music and music-making. Their broad range of influences makes it so each time they play, there is something new to enjoy. This video includes arrangements by Hiroshi, of some of the trio's favorite standards, as well as the premiere of an original tune.
